My first style challenge from Stylelist.com and Bluefly.com is a Priorities gabardine vest in a brilliantly rich, navy blue color. Although the gabardine vest is a menswear inspired piece, the capped sleeves and slight A-line shape screams chic femininity. With that in mind, I decided to play matchmaker by pairing the androgynous boyfriend vest with a girly high-waisted skirt. I discovered the two extremes complemented one another quite well. The garden print top and Victorian tights are both laced, adding an extra touch of romanticism to the outfit. I finished the ensemble with a turquoise colored wool scarf, fringed purse, and open toe, suede booties. Menswear inspired clothing can be very intimidating alone but if mixed well with feminine pieces can evoke a very sexy and modern vibe to your look!
