Liquid Blue

(Gianni Bini top, denim shorts, Converse kicks, Michael Kors bag)

Had lunch at an adorable, downtown restaurant called Polonza Bistro.
Their sweet onion dip, duck & andouille gumbo, and "Polonza" burger were all so amazingly delicious!! For my outfit, I wore an electrifying tye-dye Gianni Bini top . I paired it with high waisted denim shorts and comfortable Converse kicks. I can't believe tomorrow temps are going to be in the 40s! I swear, this Florida weather can be quite sporadic and mind-boggling at times.

Bobbi Brown "Pretty Powerful"

Great news! Bobbi Brown is running a "Pretty Powerful" campaign and is giving me a chance to send one of my readers a beautiful makeup palette! This campaign is all about having confidence and being who you are. There are certain people and things in life that can influence you to be a "pretty powerful" woman.

For me..

1. My mom is truly an amazing and inspirational person. I'm blessed to have a woman like her in my life.

2. Wearing a great pair of heels can give you a big boost of confidence that you need!

3. It takes a bold woman to wear bold accessories! Ladies, wear a statement necklace and it will surely bring out your inner fierceness.

For your chance to win a free Bobbi Brown make up palette: Send me a tweet telling me who or what makes you feel #prettypowerful!
I hope to announce a winner two winners early next week!!

One of my favorite things to wear around town is the maxi skirt! This flowy number is from "Sugar Lips" and has a unique print that pairs well with just about anything in my closet. DIY: Colored Fur

(DIY fur clutch, Alexander Wang shorts, Quail top, Bettye Muller boots)

I'm so excited to share with you this easy and inexpensive DIY! It was inspired by Phillip Lim and Prada's colored fur clutches as pictured above. I absolutely love the end result and can't wait to experiment with other bold colors! Have fun and please, please credit Behind the Seams when using this DIY!

Supplies you will need: White Faux Fur, Color Dye (RIT or IDYE), Glue Gun, Glue Sticks, Scissors, Gloves, Stainless Steel Pot, Wooden Spatula, Clutch with clasps

Make sure you are wearing gloves because it's going to get messy! They prevent colorful fingers and offer protection from the hot water in the dye bath.

1. Fill a large stainless steel or enamel pot with just enough warm water for the fabric to move freely. For visual purposes, the hot water was poured into a plastic container.

2. Add pre-wetted fabric and raise temperature to a simmer, just below boiling.

3. Add the soluble dye packet to water and stir until it is fully dissolved.

4. Place faux fur in dye bath.

5. Maintain simmer and stir with a wooden spatula frequently for 30-45 minutes.

6. Turn off heat and remove fabric from dye bath.

7. Squeeze all the excess water from the fur. Be careful as fabric and dyebath will be hot.

8. Rinse with cold water

9. Lay some newspapers down on a flat surface and place the colored fur on top of them. Let it air dry for a day.

DAY 2

10. Measure clutch and trim fur fabric at desired length. You should have two square pieces for each side.

11. Super glue the fur to the outside edges of clutch.
Try not to glue the fur too far inside of the clutch; it will prevent it from clasping together.

12. Repeat Step 11 on the opposite side with the other square piece of fur fabric.

14. Finish!!

You are now ready to rock your colorful fur clutch this fall/winter season!
